This 78-card tarot deck is a special edition by Studio Stratosphères (creators of Velonimo) to commemorate the 2024 edition of the Tour de France. The 21 numbered trump cards represent the 21 stages of the race. It is a finely illustrated collector's item, which I doubt will ever be reprinted, and that you should therefore hurry to get while it is available if you are interested.

 

 

By the way, those who associate the word "tarot" with divination may be surprised to learn that "tarot", also known as "tarock" or "tarocco", is a card game (more accurately, a family of card games) of Italian origin that is still quite popular in some countries, including France, and that its association with occultism is quite recent (some three centuries later than the apparition of the game).

Each card features two towns, the start and finish of the stage. As you see, they are finely illustrated.

The court cards are Tour-de-France-themed too.

 

As an extra, there is a cycling game included. I mean, a game supposed to represent a cycling race (as opposed to a card game). It even has a different title ("À La Conquête du Maillot Jaune"), and a different author (or pseudonym). I wonder if I should include it in the main section of the site, but until I make my mind up I will keep this one in the card games section.
