GAMES OF GOOSE
and other roll & move games
This category includes simple cycling-themed non-strategic dice games in which
each player manages one single cyclist and no strategic decisions are
taken. Among these games we can draw three categories:
-- Games "of goose", featuring a spiral track (often, but not always, of 63 squares) and probably some special squares that give the riders who land on them certain advantages or disadvantages. They may or may not have "goose" squares (regularly distributed squares where riders double or repeat their throw).
-- Other simple roll-and-move games, generally aimed at young children, which do not have spiral tracks but which may often be described as "just a game of goose".
-- Map games, in which the board represents a map and the squares generally represent cities. These games are often named after a real stage race. (More complex games in which the board represents a map but are not straightforward roll-and-move games are not included here.)
Needless to say, the boundaries between these categories are not always clear.
